I’m a punter – plain and simple. I like to play, I like to win and I enjoy being fiercely competitive. I also keep my ear close to the ground, follow the news and stats closely and seek out the best odds and money lines from a range of quality online sportsbooks. But there’s another part to me – the one that simply loves to get enrapt in the riveting action that only Hollywood superstars are able to pull off. Join me as together we uncover an absolute oyster in Even Money. This flick is everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a sports betting flick. And what I like even more about it, is that it’s highly underrated and is worth a mint in entertainment pleasure. It stars some of the industry’s biggest names in Forrest Whitaker, Kim Basinger, Danny De Vito, Kelsey Grammer, Nick Cannon and Ray Liotta. While the movie has garnered some 2,700 votes and an average rating of 6/10, it’s well-worth its 113 minutes screen time.

What’s it all about?

There are 4 college buddies who decide to become small-time bookmakers. These fellas set about building a small empire of punters – based on their very different and unique skill sets. They make use of hi-tech computer wizardry and take bet after bet as they cash in on sports betting. But all is not well in Wonderland because these small-time bookies soon find themselves encroaching into the world of organized crime territory where feared mobsters are running the show. It’s a game of new vs. old and the clash of characters is jarring and at times 100% fearsome. There are tales of absolute heartbreak in the film as character’s lives are torn apart by gambling. And with a bloody murder trail to follow, Detective Brunner is the one who pieces it all together.

Even Money is a superb sportsbetting flick and it features prominently on movie goers favourites. This film is a tribute to the acting genius of its stars and its director Mark Rydell. In spite of the film’s negligible box-office takings of $112,000 – it’s a whole lot better than the numbers indicate. Perhaps a money line bet on this flick should have been made?

When it comes to sportsbetting movies then I’m going to go with some of my favourite big-screen actors in Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino. I mean you really can’t go wrong with heavyweights like them. After reviewing this stellar flick, you’re going to have a lot of your questions answered about sportsbetting, moneylines and the general atmosphere surrounding it all. McConaughey is the inimitable Brandon Lane a former football great who has been recruited by none other than Pacino’s character Walt Abraham. The purpose of the appointment is to set up various elements of the sports betting enterprise that Pacino is putting together. What makes this flick all the more interesting is the fact that McConaughey is the one predicting the outcomes of matches all along the way. But can it all last? That’s the issue and soon tensions start building as Pacino and McConaughey lock horns. The film may not be a masterpiece in terms of winning any awards at Cannes or even the red carpet at the Oscars – but it’s certainly good fun and I for one enjoyed it.

Another stellar title includes Bookies. This is on par with the very best of them and it revolves around the burgeoning problem of sportsbetting in colleges across the USA. It is a masterpiece that has been substantially underrated by many in the film community. It tracks the exploits of three pals who become low-level bookies. Not only do their money bets increase to a great degree but the flick also introduces viewers to the inner-workings of the sports and the adrenaline-loaded thrills of the action-packed games. The film really gets to the heart of what it’s like to punt with the best of them. It matches ability and desire as the stakes increase and the profits come rolling in. The film also introduces the mafia elements – who actually have a stake in the sportsbetting that is taking place. Imagine all of this perfectly blended into a super film starring the talented Lukas Haas (of Witness fame) and Rachael Leigh Cook. Two thumbs up for a fine slice of filmmaking.

Another film that I’m going to review in forthcoming blog posts is Eight Men Out. This film tracks match-fixing – something that is increasingly on the decline, but always relevant. It’s a super film and even though it covers events of old, there is tremendous relevance in its storyline.

One of my favourite topics of conversation is film, the other is sportsbetting. What better than to merge these two topics into one exciting little entrée. If I think back to some of the most memorable movies featuring sportsbetting, then the first flick that comes to mind – surprisingly I might add is Pretty Woman. There was one scene at the racetrack that simply won’t disappear from my mind’s eye. Perhaps it was the surreal beauty of Julia Roberts in her prime, or the fairytale story that it showcased, but it was a great scene. Moving on to those flicks exclusively sports betting oriented one might consider the following stellar titles:

Let it Ride with comic genius Richard Dreyfuss

The Color of Money – with Paul Newman and Tom Cruise

The Air I Breathe – with Kevin Bacon

The Story of Sea Biscuit – with Shirley Temple and Barry Fitzgerald

Dreamer – with Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning

These are some of the finer flicks on my particular favourite – horseracing. These are more than tales on punting and winning, they parallels on the challenges we face and overcome in love and life. Of course if you’re going to widen the arc then there are so many sportsbetting type movies that you be dazed by the variety. One of my favourite male action stars is The Rock – Dwayne Johnson. If you’ve not seen his football comedy flick – ‘The Game Plan’ – you’re missing out. This ranks up there with Adam Sandler’s ‘The Longest Yard.’ For fans of cricket, there’s the story of captain corrupt – Hansie Cronje – in the movie ‘Hansie.’ Indeed the more we dig, the more we unearth. One thing’s for sure, the action on the track is far superior to anything

For more info on those movies, be sure to visit the famous IMDB website.

An online sports betting is a process which allows one to bet on a game as it is going on. There are lots of websites which provide to online sports betting. One just needs a computer and an internet connection to get started. It is not only enjoyable but also money-making. That is why many people take an interest in it.

Sports betting are very opportune as one has only to point and click the mouse. It is also faster and easier to make withdrawals and deposits online. People get connected with the betting data all through the day by being online. The chances of winning online are better as the hottest prices and latest match data are available. So, the online sports bettor can make more learned investment.

Sports betting tips

Follow Winning Form- when looking to choose opponents to bet on follows winning form before your own judgment. Look for opponents and teams that have won their last few events and bet on these to keep on their run of success. At the same time as form upsets can and do happen, betting on usual losers to come good will never make you a long-term gains.

Shop around for odds- before marked any bet, shop around to see which online companies or betting exchange has the better odds. Having numerous accounts open with different online sites will allow you to take the best odds available once you find them.

Money Management- it is never a good idea to spend above 10% of your bankroll on any player and in most cases you would do good to avoid betting above 5% on a single event. There will always be more winners in the future to earn from, but if spend the whole set on a losing selection, you would not have the incomes necessary to profit from them.

Make your own decisions- there are hundreds of tipsters out there who will happily give you choices in return for your hard earned money, but most clever people can make their own decisions and get just as good outcomes. Learn the sport you are interested in betting on until you know it very well, the place your facts to work to classify who you think has the good chance of winning a specific event. You will never be100% of the time but neither is tipsters and your decision is free!
